Jeannette Philips Teaches Yoga Classes at HeartSong Yoga and Wellness Center near Portland, Oregon
My first yoga experience was with a video that I did in my apartment with my husband. Not liking the video, I didn’t push play more than a handful of times. Years later, I decided to give yoga a second chance. I attended a class and was hooked. I loved communicating with my body for that hour. I left feeling empowered, capable, and strong. I took as many classes as I could. After each session, I felt my awareness growing. I was learning to be present in what I was feeling and to sit with the joys and the struggles that arose. I started teaching in 2003 with the hope of inspiring others to start connecting with their bodies. Yoga continues to inspire me to live more truthfully and respectfully, and I strive to teach with these values.

About me
I was born in Portland and I have been married to my best friend since 1996. My two amazing kids fill my life with joy, humor, and love. My family has taught me the true meaning of strength and love. When not teaching or practicing yoga, I enjoy spending time with my family, running with my Golden Retriever, and spending time outdoors.

"I've been taking Jeannette's classes for years and she's fantastic!  Besides being very knowledgeable, Jeannette always offers alternate poses for every level, and makes each class new and challenging.  She reminds us that it's 'yoga practice' not 'yoga perfect'!  If that doesn't make you feel comfortable to try new things, I don't know what will!" - Janet Poulos

Jeannette Philips Kids Love Yoga"Jeannette's classes are fun and challenging!  She is always mindful of where her students are in their yoga practices and helps each one achieve their personal goals.  Students are encouraged to move out of  their comfort zones while maintaining respect for the body's own limitations." - Janet Casas
