In the Good Old
Summertime

"Hot"
Yoga
The summer is
fast approaching and with it all the wonderful things that come with the
season. Like warm, sunny days, walks in the park, picnics and family get
togethers, outdoor sports and vacations! Living in Oregon makes most
of us really appreciate the sunny days that summer brings and the
opportunity to play ourdoors late into the evening. This is great, but it
is still a great time to keep up your yoga practice! Often we see class
attendance drop in the summer so we have come up with the following list
of 10 reasons to keep practicing yoga in the summer to help motivate you.
We also have new classes on the schedule to give you more options!
10 Reasons to Do Yoga in the
Summer 1. Yoga during the week can help keep you flexible and
prevent injury during your active summer weekends. 2. The warm
summer
days may make your body feel looser and more flexible so some challenging
yoga poses are more accessible! 3. We have air conditioning! 4.
Early a.m. classes allow you to get up early and practice before it gets
too hot. 5. Even summer brings it share of stress; come to yoga to
relax and chill out. 6. If you don't have a summer vacation planned
-
you can take a mini vacation every week in your yoga class. 7. You
have worked hard to get where you are in your practice - being consistent
will help you maintain your progress. 8. If you haven't started yet,
summer is a great time to take advantage of the extra energy that extra
daylight brings and get moving! 9. Summer classes are often smaller
so you get lots of personal attention. 10. Your yoga studio
needs you
in order to stay in business and to be here for you in the fall and
winter

Summer Immersion and
Intro
to Yoga
6 Week Summer
Immersion, June 18th - July 27th Monday, Wednesday and Friday from
7:00 - 8:30am (Unlimited Classes $160) This
summer we are offering an immersion to help you deepen your yoga
practice.
Mondays will include the introduction on a yoga sutra and a
physical
principle which will be explored in asanas including some partner work.
On
Wednesdays enjoy an all levels practice focused on standing poses and
building on the foundation set on Monday. Friday will be a silent day at
the studio - we will do a vinyasa style practice and instruction will be
given however with less detail and more periods of silence throughout.
More opportunity for personal contemplation of the philosophy theme will
be allowed. It is recommended that you have at least 6 months yoga
experience for this immersion. For Beginners who want to dive in
(and now is as good a time as any) you are welcome to attend Monday and
Friday at 9:00am for a beginning class with the same themes and Wednesday
at 7:00am which will be for all levels. The cost of the Immersion
will be $160 (3 class/week at $9/class) This package will allow you to
attend unlimited classes for the entire 6 weeks so you can be as immersed
as you like! The immersion will be taught by Leslie with the help of
Chris Lehman who will be attending the entire series and teaching a few
of
the classes.
Introduction
to
Yoga a 6 week series June 25th - July 30th, Mondays 7:00 -
8:00pm This class will include short lectures introducing students to
the history and philosophy of yoga and a gentle yoga practice. Designed
for first time students to experience some basic yoga postures and
develop
an understanding of what a yoga class is like. Also great for newer
beginning students who want an introduction to the philosophy of yoga in
more depth than is offered in weekly classes.
