Emilee Coulter-Thompson, MSW, RYT discovered yoga in 2000 while finishing her Master of Social Work degree. She was profoundly influenced by the ways in which yoga helped her to reconnect with her body and breath and to let go of negative mental habits. Ever since, yoga has served as her primary source of healing, growth, and inspiration. Yoga also supports Emilee's strong vision and commitment to social justice work, including over a decade of advocacy to end violence and promote women's health. Realizing yoga's potential to empower individuals and transform communities, Emilee became a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher in 2006, completed the Amrita Sanctuary Teacher Training in 2007 and a year-long apprenticeship with Lani Jelen in 2008. Now she is thrilled to be a member of the HeartSong community. As a teacher, Emilee is passionate about creating a safe space for students to explore their own healthy alignment and loving self-awareness.
