Spring in The Sanctuary
Currents

Tending the living energy beneath movement, breath, and being.

A community program for women who are ready to experience themselves as more than bodies to improve - as energy in motion, alive and vibrant.

Midlife asks for a new kind of awareness.
One rooted in presence, breath, and the currents that flow through us.

This 10 week program weaves mindful movement practices with explorations of the subtle body - the living energy that animates everything we are and do. We're not just building physical strength (though we are). We're learning to tend to ourselves as whole beings: the physical body, yes, but also the energy that animates it, the flow of vitality that makes us feel truly alive.

This is the HeartSong Yoga Sanctuary - mindfulness and body care
balanced with effective, intelligent practices that truly work.

Why This Program Is Different

What if movement wasn't about fixing yourself?

So many fitness programs push intensity over integrity. Music blares, the pace outpaces presence, and bodies do their best to keep up without real guidance - or real understanding of how to move well.

But your body deserves something more thoughtful.

It deserves respect, support, and skilled instruction that helps you not only work harder - but work better.

Midlife brings shifting hormones, fluctuating energy, changing bone density, and a deeper longing for movement that feels purposeful and nourishing. You don't just want exercise.

You want movement that:

  • builds strength intelligently, not haphazardly

  • supports your bones, joints, and posture

  • improves alignment and form so every practice is effective

  • helps you feel clear, calm, powerful, and mobile

  • leaves you in a body you feel great in - not depleted or overworked

There's no thumping music here.

No pushing through pain or rushing past the body's wisdom.

Instead, we tune into the sound of breath, the rhythm of your body, and the subtle cues that make strength training both safe and deeply effective. You'll learn to hold yourself in alignment - not just so your posture is supported and your muscles work efficiently, but so energy can flow more freely through you.

This is where the physical meets something deeper.

When you move with intention, with breath, with awareness of how you're holding yourself in space - something shifts. You can feel it. The current beneath the effort. The vitality that rises when everything aligns.

You will get stronger. You will work. You will challenge your muscles and bones - and your understanding of what strength actually is.

But you'll also discover what it feels like when movement opens something rather than depletes it. When the way you hold yourself doesn't just protect your joints - it heightens the flow of life force moving through you.

This isn't esoteric. It's what becomes available when we slow down enough to notice. When we honor our bodies as they are now while respecting our capability and potential.

This is strength training that tends to your whole system - physical, energetic, soulful.

What you will experience

Your program includes:

🔸 Work IN Workout - Mindful Strengthening (Mondays)

Resistance training with weights and bands, agility and mobility exercises to support graceful aging and build muscular and bone health. Every movement an opportunity to tend to your physical vessel with breath and presence, caring for the body that carries your life force.

🔸 Core Revival - Yoga, Core & Restoration (Wednesdays)

Yoga asana, intentional core and pelvic floor strengthening and exploration, restorative postures and breath practice. Where we build from the center out, soften what's been held too tight, and reconnect with the subtle currents that sustain us.

🔸 Meditation & Connection Circles (Tuesdays, bi-weekly)

Community gatherings where we explore the energetic dimension of what we're learning. Short teachings to open perspective, followed by practices that give you direct experience - not just talking about energy, but feeling it, knowing it from the inside.

🔸🔸🔸

Through it all, we're tending to the currents - the subtle body - the flow of prana that makes us feel vibrant and alive. This isn't abstract philosophy. This is lived experience: the reason breath matters, the reason presence transforms movement, the reason we practice the way we do.

Meet Your Guide

Leslie Ellis, C-IAYT, ERYT500
Spiritual Mentor, Certified Yoga Therapist,
Soul-based Coach

Hi! I'm Leslie Ellis, a yoga therapist, soul-based coach, and movement guide for midlife women. I'm a postmenopausal woman, an avid hiker, and have practiced yoga nearly 40 years. But I found that yoga alone wasn't keeping me strong enough, so I started weight training - even though the gym environment has never inspired me.

Since then, I've expanded my knowledge, diving deeply into the science of bone health, strength training designed specifically for women's bodies, and the energetic dimension of movement - how we're not just muscles and bones but living currents of energy.

I'm excited to share this journey with you!

I use the wisdom of yoga as a foundation, but my classes go beyond the typical "fancy flows and tricky poses." In this program, I incorporate focused, effective strength training and breathwork designed to build bone density, improve posture and alignment, and help you feel confident and supported in your body.

I teach in a way that is mindful, precise, and empowering, helping you move safely while building real-world strength in your muscles, bones, and breath - and your understanding of the currents that animate you.

Midlife is a time to move with purpose, grace, and presence - and I'm here to help you create a body you feel great in, open to the rich possibilities of the years ahead, alive with vitality.

“Yoga is a very stabilizing force for me and adding in strength training has been remarkably effective. I am so much stronger now than when I started at age 50. I'm 73 now!"

"Without these practices,
I don't think I would weather what is going on in the world nearly as well as I do. Anxiety no longer has the impact it once did.”

Melani B., Program Administrator, Colorado Sanctuary Member

"I walk away from each session with increased energy. I am more aware in mind and body, as well as deepening into my soul. I trust Leslie and can share whatever is going on for me."
