If yoga is about the union of the mind and body with the deepest self, then I’d say that before HeartSong’s teacher training, I had caught intermittent glimpses of this union. Now, building on the insights and energy of HeartSong’s program, I experience the union that is yoga more deeply and more steadily.

The Teacher Training program was exactly what I was looking for! The training gave me a solid grounding in anatomy, yoga philosophy, and the modifications and adjustments that help keep students safe. Opportunities to practice various instructional techniques were woven throughout the studies. And I deepened my own practice of yoga! HeartSong’s excellent teachers gave us each personalized feedback, and the training went above and beyond the “basics” in preparing me to teach yoga.

I absolutely adore this yoga center! I have been attending classes for a year and look forward to years to come. Leslie, the owner of the studio, is incredibly knowledgeable about the human body and its workings. This knowledge allows her to make creative adjustments and point out alternative poses to accommodate for joint/muscle pain, disabilities, recovery from surgery, etc. The studio has a wonderful calm, peaceful, upbeat atmosphere and I have been pleased with all of my interactions with other students and instructors. The connection of the mind, body, and spirit is highlighted in all the classes I have attended. I would highly recommend this studio!

Loved the people teaching and (taking) the classes. So good for flexibility and stress. Such personal attention and technical body expertise from the instructors. Like Yoga I’ve never had. Like all things, you need to go to the professional with strong technical expertise, and that is what Heartsong is all about. I am older and have health issues. I always feel very safe in the Heartsong Yoga classes; that is a high priority for me. Safe, but also challenged appropriately. I’m a Yoga rookie. I thought I would give it a try and take advantage of the $40 special for as many classes as you can take in a month. What a deal! After 2 classes, I’m still a rookie, but slowly learning and having a great time. The studio is very nice and comforting. Mats are available to borrow. Give it a try!

(Having an on-site) yoga class is a wonderful start to my day. After yoga I feel relaxed and ready for anything. I particularly like the sense of peace that I feel throughout the day. Surgery left me with weak muscles, but it gave me a strong case of anxiety. I asked Leslie to instruct me in poses that would help strengthen core muscles and regain peace of mind. Over three one-hour sessions, she guided me as we built a routine that I could practice at home. When a pose was too difficult, she modified it so that I could do it comfortably. She gave me clear written instructions so I would remember how to do poses correctly once I got home…I appreciate her knowledge, patience, and compassion.
