Welcome to HeartSong Yoga & Wellness Center!

                                 We are Moving!

Dear HeartSong Yoga Community,leslie-ellis-headshot

It is with a lot of excitement and a good amount of melancholy that I am writing this to you today.

Excitement, because I am moving into some new ventures with great partners and making some much needed shifts in the business of HeartSong Yoga!

Melancholy, because as a part of this, I will be closing the current location of HeartSong Yoga and Wellness Center.

Our beautiful studio on Hall Boulevard has been a place for community and connection. I have seen many friendships arise and grow there.

It has been a space for healing, for acceptance and for love. So often through the years you have told me how much the space itself touches you. When you look out the windows at the changing foliage of the seasons; as the geese or the heron flies by; as you marvel at those giant rodents on the bank or the baby ducks swimming by….. As the sun filters in or the rain beats on the windows. This has been a space where peaceful presence has been possible.

Within the space of HeartSong each teacher has been able to offer their gifts and support you in re-connecting to yourself. We have welcomed you into the presence of acceptance and love so you could find more clearly within yourself those same qualities. We have created a container where healing has been not only possible, but safe.

And you…. You have given us so much as well. You have given me so much. I will truly miss seeing you come down the breezeway and through the door, into the studio and there on your mat radiating so much beauty. I will miss that here in this space.

However, we will have other places and spaces to join again with yoga.

Here’s what I am excited about:

I am moving my business of HeartSong Yoga into two new spaces in January, 2016. My primary teaching practice will be located at Jade River Healing Arts Center (www.jaderiverpdx.com). I will be focusing there on my private individual and therapeutic practice. I will continue to see private clients 4 days/week and will also be offering some small group classes, special series and workshops.

HeartSong also has a 200 hour teacher training program that I love teaching! This program is already strongly registered for 2016. I am going to be partnering with Turtles Yoga and Wellness (www.turtlesyoga.com) to host this training and ensure we can continue to support more great teachers entering the field of teaching in the Portland Metro area as well as all the outlying areas where our graduates are teaching like: Gresham, St. Helens, Salem, Tillamook, Astoria, and Kelso, Washington.

In addition I will be teaching a couple of intermediate classes at Turtles and am looking forward to having time in my schedule to offer an expanded repertoire of workshops and retreats!

All this said, we will continue to offer our full schedule of classes at the Hall Blvd. location until the end of December. During the next couple months, we will be working with all of our current students to ensure you have the resources to continue to study and practice yoga.

In light of my dedication to the HeartSong community being supported, I am also thrilled that the majority of the current teaching group at HeartSong have found a new home at Turtles and will be able to continue to offer amazing classes (many at their same time slots!) in this new and beautiful venue which, I am sure, will serve the Beaverton community well.

I want to thank each and every one of you who has been a part of our community here. I know there will be many questions about the whats and whys and you are welcome to ask me. However, know that primarily, it is simply time for a change and I am really excited about this next chapter.

May you be happy. May you peaceful. May you be well.

With so much love,

Leslie Ellis, OTR, ERYT 500
