MEMBERS GROUP PROGRAM
Welcome to The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is a Yoga Wisdom School for women meeting the changes of midlife and beyond with courage, grace, and awareness.
A changing body. Different responsibilities. Desires you're only just uncovering.
Here, these thresholds are met, and walked through, in community.
You're guided through embodied yoga practice, philosophy, and real life experience, on a journey that is all your own.
Your body is the portal. Practice is the key. You've arrived where you belong.
A safe space to be wholly yourself, met without judgment, without dogma. Community here means both being held accountable and accepted completely, exactly as you are.
We practice together - moving through yoga postures, breath, and stillness - woven with ancient teachings, the wisdom of the divine feminine, and modern science, brought to life through my own decades of study.
The Sanctuary meets you wherever you are. Offered virtually, it's a place to gather in circle with other women, each on her own path, however she found her way here.
The door is open.
There aren’t many places in the world where we get to practice being ourselves without fear of judgement. Where the standard we are held to is the one of being authentic and real. And we are loved for just who we are.
The Sanctuary is one of those places.
What Members Say About The Sanctuary
”I've found the sanctuary to be a safe, comforting, and open space to think about my experiences and move my mind and body in new ways. The sense of sacred togetherness has been so valuable for me.”
— Erin
“I didn't even know that I needed a community like this. But without having this community and without the practices, I don't think I would have weathered what is going on in the world nearly as well as I have.”
— Melani
“I love the variety of dharma teachings, and Leslie's personal sharing in her classes. I wholly encourage anyone who wants to further their study to join The Sanctuary.
It is wonderful, magical and soul stirring.”

Root to Rise:
A 6 month journey from feet to crown
This live journey begins November 10 — join by November 5 to start it live with the group, from the very first class.
Joining later? See below for details*.
Your body's needs have changed - how you exercise and practice yoga needs changing too. It's no longer just about getting flexible, stretching, and flowing. What we need now is real strength: the kind that supports mobility and longevity more than deep stretching ever did. The Work IN Workout combines yoga asana, embodied movement, and therapeutic exercise with resistance-training principles, without losing the soul of yoga. And here's the paradox: the stronger we get, the more open and flexible we become anyway.
Each month's theme runs through the whole practice. In the Work IN Workout (Seeker and Sage), we build it through strength. In Circle (all live levels), we meet it through restorative practice, meditation, and reflection - so whatever level you join, you're held by the same journey.
This month: Feet and Ankles - Grounding into Strength
November 2026:

Want to talk with me about whether Sanctuary is right for you?
"I love the community in the Sanctuary. Making a commitment and showing up in person really lifts my spirits. I look forward to it every week. And when I can’t make it live, I can still practice with the recordings.”
— Kelli
“Leslie's teaching helps me to see myself more clearly. This path is not prescriptive or rigid, but has clear edges to help keep me focused while allowing space and choice. Her practical, yet deeply nuanced approach is grounded and explicit, unlike other teachers I've experienced."
— Kasey
“My schedule is very full so the recordings work great for me! I also particularly love the written content Leslie provides with all the great and inspiring information, poetry, music and thoughts.”
— Gigi
What becomes possible…
As we practice together, a confident and deep self-knowing arises. You change from the inside out.
No longer willing to hold yourself back, the tired, apologetic layers begin to fall, and what’s underneath has space to breathe.
Not a performance of who you should be. Just you, as you actually are.
This isn't a practice you watch from the sidelines - it asks you to actually be present.
You have to show up for it, make it a priority.
Let the yoga do its work on you - more than poses, it's a way of moving, breathing, being.
It becomes a way of life.
That's what makes the transformation possible.
Hey, I’m Leslie!
I’m so happy you’re here and considering joining me and the community inside The Sanctuary!
I know first hand how hard it can be to establish an abiding yoga practice and how alone you can feel as you bring your spiritual beliefs into your life, letting them help you make the changes you desire.
Let me support you!
I have nearly 40 years of practice and almost 30 years of teaching experience behind me. I'm a Certified Yoga Therapist, Certified Soul-based Coach, and trained early for my first career as an Occupational Therapist. I have a teaching style that is grounded in knowledge, and I know it will help you see yourself in new ways and open up new possibilities for you.
No longer will your yoga be about getting on your mat to do poses (although that sure feels good!) it’ll be about how you relate to, and care for, yourself. It’ll be about how you feel when you walk out into the world as your best self. And it’ll be something that you never say you’ll go do later…
You’ll be “doing” yoga all the time. I’ll show you how.
Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.

Frequently Asked Questions about The Sanctuary
-
I teach yoga as a mind, body, spirit practice that is inclusive of yoga posture practice, breathing exercises, meditation, and many other techniques for supporting mindfulness and awareness.
For exploration of the postures, I teach an alignment based hatha yoga (the physical practice of yoga) that is deeply connected to the spiritual. More than simply working on poses, I teach you to be more embodied. To feel and sense what is going on inside of you.
I teach a variety of meditation practices to give you tools for calming your nervous system, cultivating peacefulness, and awakening to a more aligned and enlivened you in the world.
-
My teaching style is slow, directive, with modifications and alternatives built in throughout. This means most experience levels can find their way into the practice together. If you have an injury, significant physical limitations, or very limited yoga experience, let's talk first — schedule a time to connect so we can figure out together if this is a good fit for you.
-
Live classes follow a steady weekly rhythm, plus a bimonthly gathering for deeper connection. Exact days and times are shared directly with members and kept current inside the Community. Every session is recorded, so your calendar never locks you out.
-
All sessions are recorded and many members choose to set their own schedule using the recordings.
While the meditation sessions do include some group interaction, during the Connection Circle, I always give options and suggestions for those who are watching the recording so you can benefit from the exercises and experience.
There is no direct interaction during the yoga asana classes so recordings are pretty much the same as participating live. -
Yes. I love working with people who are new to yoga and are serious about exploring what a well-rounded practice could look like.
My teaching style already builds in modifications and alternatives, so most beginners find their footing right in the main class.
If you'd like to talk it through first, schedule a Discovery session and we can figure out together what makes sense for you.
-
I am a trained and experienced yoga therapist and teach yoga from the foundation of this knowledge.
I teach you how to align your body and to sense and feel your limits to help to mitigate the risks of injury.
However, in Sanctuary classes I can not give you specific and individualized instruction which you may need when you have an injury.
Please feel welcome to schedule a Discovery Session and we can talk more fully about what is going on with you. I can let you know during our discussion if I believe your needs can be addressed within the classes.
I do also offer private sessions including yoga therapy. We can talk about whether this might better support you. Private sessions can also be added to your Sanctuary program at a substantial discount. -
Not exactly. The practice is the entry point, but the deeper work is about how you meet your whole life.
Classes in The Sanctuary teach you yoga in a broader sense.
Your body is the portal. Practice is the key.
